dc.description.abstract | Athabasca University (AU) library has taken an active role in advocating mobile learning within the institution and has been developing mobile friendly resources and services to cater to diverse learners since 2004. AU library has pioneered the development of a mobile digital library, developed and promoted mobile formatted resources and services for e-learners using wide ranges of handheld devices, and engaged in mobile leaning content development project such as mobile ESL lessons for new immigrants. AU library has provided strong leadership and an effective support system for mobile learning at the University. As a result of these efforts, AU now has a mobile friendly library and services and received recognition from Canadian Library Association. This presentation will highlight the accomplishments of AU library in mobile library system and content development; discuss the successes and challenges, and the library’s roles in developing future mobile learning strategies. | en |
