dc.descriptionThe University & College Designers Association (UCDA) exists to promote excellence in visual communications for educational institutions. The conference provided four days of continuing education covering five tracks—Technology, Inspiration, Practice, Education, and Sustainabililty—on everything from new territories in technology, creativity and marketing. The conference provided networking opportunities whereas the focus was to promotes excellence in visual communications for educational institutions. Discussions varied on all aspect including how to educate the client and have the client see long-term potential with effective communication materials. Attended several lectures and sessions: Why Design Matters – Raising the Stakes of Graphic Design; It’s the End of the Web as We Know It; How to Get an A+ on Homework; The Accidental Designer for Education Institutions; Managing Your Visual Brand: A Case Study; How ‘Design for Sustainability’ Can Change the World; How to Design and Redesign an Innovative University Magazine and a few others. Also, participated in a pre-conference workshop: Brand Audit Experience - Discover or Rediscover Your School's Roots by Engaging in a Brand Audit Experience.en
