dc.description.abstracte-Learning combines communication technologies (e.g., e-mail, Web, conferencing, and forum), pertinent learning theories, and real-world learning (experiential learning). This session will demonstrate how this bridging can transform into a new and vibrant pedagogy / andragogy. Principles of adult learning theory have provided students with an excellent array of quality e-Learning practices. With the inclusion of transformative learning theory (revising assumptions, premises, ways of interpreting experience, or perspectives on the world, by means of self-reflection) and experiential learning theory (learning through experience), students experience ee-Learning. This combination of theory and practice allows for engagement and reflection that theory alone oftentimes does not provide. Students significantly influence what they learn (the content) and how they learn it (the process). That is they relate their real-world experiences to the curriculum, use the Internet as well as books and other media of instruction to supplement their knowledge, and use reflective and critical analysis skills to tie the curriculum and practices / experiences in the real world together. It brings students into the very heart of learning, where taking responsibility for decisions about content and process can help to define their success.en
