Learning Virtually: Online Professional Development for Library Workers with Tight Budgets and Full Schedules presented at the 2008 American Library Association Annual Conference in Anaheim, CA, June 26-July 2, 2008
Abstract
I was invited to present at this conference by the Program Planning Committee of the Distance Learning Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), ALA. The program will be on Saturday June 28th at 1:30-3:30, and program information can be found here: http://www.ala.org/ala/eventsandconferencesb/annual/2008a/AN08-prelimprogs-frisat.pdf. While I have not as yet prepared a presentation or abstract, a brief summary of my presentation is below. The provision of online training and professional development opportunities for staff who serve on Library information/circulation desks can be challenging, particularly in an environment where budgets are small and opportunities for training are provided miles away. This presentation will focus on the provision of online training for auditory learners.
