Warhol Wild: Applied Colour Theory Course
Abstract
The Pop Art movement and the iconic themes of Andy Warhol have opened up many doors to the joyous notions of colour and have allowed it to move beyond the boundaries of tradition. The wild experiments of the colour field painters and the maverick markings of the Expressionists have given us many portals to creativity. In an experimental atmosphere, you will use these doorways to move your intuitive sense of colour forward onto canvas. You will learn new ways of seeing and develop your ability to use colour and confirm your individuality. There will be many opportunities to apply these techniques to both realism and abstraction throughout the week. Bring your creativity, your sense of humour, and be prepared for the surprises and detours of experimental painting. Acrylics are the most versatile medium for this course, but oils are also welcome. Oil painters must work in a solvent-free method in the studio.
