Luminescence Dating Technique Contributions to Geological Research: Hondo-Smith Case Study
Abstract
"Describing the principles behind the luminescence dating technique, which is currently being applied to research on wind deposited dune structures, Dr. Ken Munyikwa, Asst. Prof., Earth Science, Centre for Science, will provide preliminary research results from the Hondo-Smith area (located a short distance north of Athabasca). The contributions of this methodology to the dating of geological materials will be discussed in
terms of improvement to the knowledge base on the chronology of millennial scale (medium to long range) environmental change records for western Canada."
