Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition is a service to AU's adult and mature learners. The usefulness of PLAR as a tool is enhanced by understanding its as a learning activity rather than just an accreditation process. Dr. Dianne Conrad will outline how PLAR works as a concept, how it works at AU's Centre for Learning Accreditation, and the relationship between PLAR and the work of the Registrar's Office. She will also share preliminary research findings on the nature of mentoring students through the PLAR process.en
