A new genre of net based tools that are designed to support social connections, among students. They usually include blogging, profiling, filtering, and cooperative learning tools. Through discussion and demonstration of Me2U.athabascau.ca, we can see this new tool supporting interaction in student-paced courses. Dr. Terry Anderson, AU's Canada Research Chair in Distance Education, will illustrate the potential of these tools to support varying degrees of cooperative and socailly enhanced learning in self-paced programming.en
