How does the functional design of text—its color, size, spacing, background page color—add to or diminish visual stress? Paul Brennan, AU MScIS graduate, will present some of his thesis work during an overview of visual stress theory and Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome. The ergonomics of online texts and significance to applications such as e-learning will be discussed. Strategies for reduction of visual stress in digital texts will be presented as the audience engages in a “walkthrough” of a prototype.en
