Exercising (and Exorcising) Cancer: The Role of Exercise in the Cancer Control Continuum
Abstract
Physical exercise is a proven intervention that enhances psychosocial and physical outcomes in cancer survivors; however, despite these benefits, the majority of survivors are not meeting public health exercise guidelines. Dr. Jeff Vallace, Assistant Professor, Centre for Nursing and Health Studies, will examine the role of exercise in facilitating rehabilitation and recovery in cancer survivors--both on and off treatment. Exciting new evidence will also be summarized which suggests that exercise may even prevent cancer recurrence and prolong survival.
