This report examines both the literature on research networks and examples of research networks to identify key learnings about research networks and the factors that impact on their success. It was conducted as input to deliberations within the BC-Alberta Social Economy Research Alliance (BALTA) about possible options for continuing BALTA beyond its current grant funding, which expires in 2011. However, the research results are of general interest to anyone interested in research networks.en
