Abstract

This presentation was given at a two-day workshop of the Congrès du mouvement coopératif francophone de l’Alberta in April, 2010. It presents research conducted by the BC-Alberta Social Economy Research Alliance (BALTA) on the Seikatsu Consumer Co-operative in Japan and explores its relevance for local food system transformation in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada.
