Online Workers' Education
Abstract
This paper recounts the preliminary findings of a research project designed to
explore the relevance of computer-mediated communication technologies for the
collective and social purposes that are an integral part of labour education. The initial
goal of the project was to test conferencing systems, related computer-based
collaborative learning spaces, and online course materials in order to determine if and
how these media could be used to facilitate and enhance labour education in forms that
foster the cooperative, collaborative, and collective ideals of the labour community.
